We are a proud, strong nation of immigrants.
Immigration has made us the most powerful nation in the world. Economists note that reducing immigration will reduce economic growth in the US, weakening our nation. Cities like Detroit, Rochester, and our own Hazleton have experienced an economic revival led by the arrival of immigrants. We do need sensible immigration reform that provides humane and fair treatment of immigrants and refugees and that helps grow and strengthen our economy. Anti-immigration trends and signals from the Trump Administration do the opposite and pose a threat to our nation. We must not allow wrong-headed immigration approaches to harm us.
